DTY Marabú charcoal is the perfect charcoal as well for the professional gastronomic sector as for selective and ecoconscious barbecue enthusiasts. For DTY Marabú charcoal no trees are cut down and no plantations are needed. DTY Marabú charcoal is the benefit which can be derived from the excessive spreading of an exuberantly growing species of plant.
The Charcoal is a professional coke from the wood that, after the firing, provides high temperature with long duration. The Charcoal is characterized by an elevated purity (shown by the law residual ash after be burned) and by high density (this is the fount of the high calorific value). For this density, we recommend using the “turn-carbon fireplace” to turn on the charcoal (see the box on the right) , instead of turning on it directly on the grill. This will make the ignition very easy.
These are some of the characteristics of DTY Marabú charcoal:
1. certified premium quality (DINplus)
2. made from single-origin hardwood
3. delivers long-lasting high heat
4. suitable for gastronomic use
5. no development of smoke or soot
6. homogenous black color, metallic sound
7. natural form (branch shape, 2-15 cm)
8. eco-friendly background
DTY Marabú charcoal is a charcoal for professional use, whose burning is at a very high tempature and of long duration.
High purity (recognizable by the small amount of ashes which remains after burning) and high density are also features of DTY Marabú charcoal. Because of its high density, which is the source of its gross heat, for a fast and easy ignition of the charcoal, just like for briquettes, we reccomend to use a chimney starter (see text box on the right side) instead of igniting the charcoal directly on the grill.
Fill the charcoal into the chimney starter, put a piece of crumpled newspaper or a firestarter cube beneath and light it. Because of the chimney effect the charcoal ignites reliably without further action. Just wait for 10 minutes and you’ll have a perfect load of smouldering charcoal, which then can be spread evenly on the grill. In the meantime the master or mistress of the barbecue can decicate him/herself to grillables or guests
